Deportation
Men were sent to prison camps in 1941, 1944-48, women with children were sent to Siberia in June, 1941 and March, 1949.
Exposition "Deportation- Personal Family Stories" about seven families who passed through the horror of deportation. Among them there is a story about a mother who was sent away through 7 prisons with her 3 small children in 1947. There is a story about two children deported without their mother and another one about a boy who was sent to Siberia twice.
A visit to the farm of a deported family if possible.
Collective farms
Why were collective farms founded? How?
The misery of Väike-Maarje Collective Farm and its rise among the best ones. All this is reflected in the exposition of the collective farm history in the museum.
In the forest
Forest brothers
Forest Brothers - fighters for freedom.
Why did they go to the forest? How did they live there?
Martin Tamm - 10 years in the forest, in 4 different bunkers. Conspiracy rules. Brother Kaljo with his sister provided him with food. Two raids passed successfully, but in 1954?
Martin Tamm's reconstructed bunker. What is it like? The stove that heated the bunker was used to make food. Bunks that were used to sleep in and live in. The places to keep arms and equipment.
A picnic - a Forest Brother's meal in a glade. A "Forest Brother" Mihkel in full kit telling stories about the life in the forest. Kaljo Tamm's memories if possible.
The missle base
The missile base in the vicinity of Väike-Maarja has two parts: Kadila and Rohu (Lebavere).
When and why were they founded? What was done there? The different zones of the bases. Missile hangars. Starting places. How were the missiles prepared for starting? Starting and hiding.
Although almost all the buildings are in ruins now, some well-preserved hangars and some starting and hiding places can be found in both bases.
The battle of Lebavere
In the summer of 1941 almost 200 retreating Red Army soldiers had stayed behind in Lebavere woods. The local Self-Defence called the villagers for a fight. Almost 40 men gathered and went to chase the enemy.
How did the battle take place? What were its consequences then and especially after the World War?
Legth of the trip: 30 km by bus, 4-4,5 hours.
