AIR BALTIC CORPORATION (airBaltic) is Latvian national airline that was established in 1995. Major shareholders include the Latvian state, with 52.6% of shares, and Baltijas aviācijas sistēmas SIA, with 47.2% of shares.
Currently, airBaltic operates direct flights out of three Baltic State capitals – Tallinn, Estonia, Riga, Latvia, and Vilnius, Lithuania to over 60 destinations. In 2008, airBaltic carried almost 2.7 million passengers.
Direct flights from Riga include Aalesund, Almaty, Amman, Athens, Amsterdam, Baku, Barcelona, Beirut, Belgrade, Bergen, Berlin, Billund, Brussels, Copenhagen, Chisinau, Dubai, Dublin, Dushanbe, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Geneva, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Hannover, Helsinki, Istanbul, Kaliningrad, Kaunas, Kiev, Kuopio, Kuusamo, Lappeenranta, London, Lulea, Madrid, Milan, Minsk, Moscow, Munich, Nice, Odessa, Oslo, Oulu, Palanga, Paris, Pskov, Rome, Rovaniemi, Simferopol, Stavanger, Saint Petersburg, Stockholm, Tallinn, Tampere, Tartu, Tashkent, Tbilisi, Tel Aviv, Tromso, Turku, Umea, Vaasa, Venice, Vienna, Vilnius, Visby, Warsaw, Zurich and Yerevan.
airBaltic also operates direct flights between Tallinn and Turku, Tallinn and Lappeenranta, Tallinn and Oulu, Tallinn and Tampere, Tampere and Kuopio, Tampere and Rovaniemi, Lappeenranta and Kuusamo, Lappeenranta and Kuopio, Turku and Oulu, Bergen and Stavanger, Umea and Vaasa, Oulu and Stockholm, Tallinn and Stockholm.
The airBaltic fleet currently consists of 31 aircraft: 2 Boeing 757-200, 10 Boeing 737-500s, 8 Boeing 737-300 and 11 Fokker-50s.
